Description

Located in Flixton near Bungay, the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum spans eight acres and showcases East Anglia’s rich aviation heritage. With nearly 70 aircraft and over 30,000 artefacts, the museum features three hangars and eight themed buildings dedicated to RAF Bomber Command, Air-Sea Rescue, the Royal Observer Corps, and the 446th Bomb Group USAAF. Visitors can explore both military and civilian aircraft, including helicopters, autogyros, jets and gliders, alongside immersive displays on aerial archaeology, decoy sites and the Home Front.

Facilities include free on-site parking, accessible toilets and ramps, a museum shop, picnic areas, and a raised boardwalk nature trail. The museum is open Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free, with donations encouraged.

Special exhibits include a flyable replica of the Colditz Cock escape glider, the only privately owned complete de Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.1, and a Falklands War–captured FMA IA 58 Pucará.
