Description
The D-Day Story in Portsmouth is the only UK museum dedicated to Operation Overlord. Housed on Clarence Esplanade in purpose-built galleries, it immerses visitors through original film, interactives and artefacts.
Your visit begins aboard LCT 7074—the last surviving D-Day Landing Craft Tank—then moves through the Preparation Gallery, the D-Day and Battle of Normandy Gallery, and concludes in the Legacy Gallery featuring the 83-metre Overlord Embroidery.
Facilities include a 125-space car park, D-Day Café with seafront views, an on-site gift shop, step-free access throughout, induction-loop and audio-guide assistance, accessible toilets, and dedicated educational resources for schools.
