Situated at the historic Woodford Aerodrome in Stockport, the Avro Heritage Museum is dedicated to preserving the legacy of A.V. Roe & Co (Avro), which produced iconic aircraft such as the Lancaster, Vulcan, Nimrod, and BAe 146

The museum is housed in a former fire-station building and features a spacious two‑floor exhibition hall, gallery spaces, a café overlooking the Vulcan bomber, a research archive with library and reading room, and a conference facility (the Lancaster Room) for up to 60 delegates with AV equipment and museum access.

Special exhibits include:

  • The only complete Avro Vulcan B.2 painted in its original ‘anti‑flash’ white scheme, displayed outside and with an internal cockpit.

  • Accurate cockpit replicas of Lancaster “S‑for‑Sugar”, Anson, Vulcan XM602, Canberra WK118, HS748, Nimrod MR.2, and Vickers VC10 for visitor access (supplemental fees apply).

  • A VR Lancaster bombing raid experience, recreating a real 1943 sortie over Berlin using BBC‑recorded audio & immersive visuals.

The museum provides free parking (including disabled spaces), wheelchair-access throughout (cockpits excepted), accessible toilets with baby changing, hearing loops, visitor wheelchairs, and welcomes assistance dogs.
