Description

Nestled beside RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre offers an unparalleled close-up look at the Royal Air Force’s living tribute to WWII aviation. Operated in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, the centre combines a small exhibition space with guided hangar tours—led by passionate volunteer guides—revealing the stories behind each historic aircraft. Visitors can watch technicians maintain flying heritage machines and explore displays on the BBMF’s role in major state occasions and airshows.

Facilities include free on-site parking, accessible toilets and ramps, induction-loop hearing assistance, baby-changing facilities, a 1940s-style tea bar, a museum shop stocking books, models and memorabilia, and step-free access to all public areas. Guided hangar tours run Monday–Friday (10:30–15:30 Mar–Oct; 10:30–15:00 Nov–Feb) by advance booking. Note: RAF security restrictions prohibit bags on tours, but small carrier bags are available.
